Muttera's, owned by Fred Muttera, sold sliced rye for 7¢ per loaf, a two-layer chocolate cake for 25¢, a three-layer cake for 36¢, doughnuts for 20¢ per dozen, date bars for 15¢ per dozen, cookies for 8¢ per dozen, and cinnamon rolls for 17¢ per dozen. Fruitcakes cost 50¢ for a one-pound, 95¢ for a two-pound, $1.35 for a three-pound, and $2 for a five-pound cake. The store also sold Philadelphia cream cheese, Superior bread, and cracked wheat bread. |
