TITLE   Unidentified grocery
DESCRIPTION   Interior view of an unidentified grocery store located in or around Corpus Christi, Texas. Two men in white aprons stand behind a check out counter with a crate of eggs, a box of Cremo cigars, and three large glass containers on it. Canned goods are stacked on wall shelves and a rack of bread can be seen in the rear of the store. This grocery was self-service as indicated by the baskets behind the men. The store advertises Rath's Black Hawk meat, oyster stew made with Borden milk, Red & White mayonnaise, and peaches. They sold Kre-Mel dessert; Mazola oil; Rinso detergent, 9¢; Lux detergent, 11¢ and 22¢; Lux soap, two for 15¢; Lifebuoy, 7¢ per bar; Fairy soap, five for 25¢; Gold Medal flour; Bucket syrup; raisin bread; Rippled Wheat cereal; packaged dinner rolls; and brooms and mops. Eggs and cookies were sold in bulk. Note the refrigerated cooler in the back.
