Summary: This musical revue in two acts and 23 scenes had settings designed by Bel Geddes, and lyrics and music by Cole Porter. Sketches were by Moss Hart, George S. Kaufman, Robert Pirosh, Joseph Schrank, Charles Sherman, and Ben Hecht. Orchestral composition was by William Schuman with a "Scene de Ballet" by Igor Stravinsky. The show was directed by Phillip Loeb, and staged and lit by Hazard Short, with costumes by Mary Grant and gowns by Valentina. Dances were choreographed by Jack Donahue, and the ballet was choreographed by Anton Dolin. The premier was produced by Billy Rose at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York where it opened on 7 December 1944. It ran for 183 performances, and the cast included Beatrice Lillie, Bert Lahr, Doc Rockwell, Benny Goodman, Anton Dolin, and Alicia Markova.
