Description:

Twelve loose gelatin silver prints by Ansel Adams. Ten images are landscapes and/or close-up images of nature; one image is a group portrait of three mountaineers at a campsite in the Sierra Nevada Mountains; and one image is a Polaroid portrait of Robert Balzer. Landscape images were made in various national parks and monuments, specifically, Yosemite National Park (Calif.), Joshua Tree National Monument (Calif.), Sunset Crater National Monument (Ariz.), and Death Valley National Monument (Calif. and Nev.). Other images were made in Alaska and Hawaii. Several images are from Adams’ Portfolio I and Portfolio II.
