Abstract:
Contains manuscripts that were
received with a large group of published works known as the Recusant Literature
Collection. These works were created in England during periods when Catholicism
was
proscribed and document the exiled French clergy and their reception in England.
Several of the earliest manuscripts from this collection have since been added
to
the Medieval & Early Modern Manuscripts Collection, which gathers together
the Ransom Center's pre-1700 manuscript holdings.
