The papers of the British librarian and author Richard Garnett chiefly reflect his
career at the British Museum, his writings, his contributions to Shelley scholarship,
and his interest in astrology. Frequent correspondents include Ernest Hartley Coleridge,
Edward Dowden, Harry Buxton Forman, Edmund Gosse, William Michael Rossetti, Lady Jane
Gibson Shelley, and Sir Percy Florence Shelley among numerous others. Many Garnett
family members are also well-represented, including the elder Richard Garnett (1789-1850).
