This collection was assembled by Crawford A. Peffer, who was Vice President of the
Redpath Lyceum Bureau. Included are Peffer’s manuscript which outlines the history
of the bureau; business files which contain programs, brochures, clippings, and
schedules for seasons dating from 1912 to 1934; programs arranged alphabetically
by
lecturer or topic; a single file of Peffer’s correspondence with a client, the
actress Eva LeGallienne, 1939-1959; and miscellaneous items, including a poster,
1878-1878 (in pieces), a printing block, a file of various forms, publications,
clippings, and photographs, and a typescript for The Story of Tent Chautauqua by
Harry P. Harrison.
The collection is organized into four series: I. Works, II. Business Files, III.
Programs, and IV. Miscellaneous.
