      <head>Scope and Contents</head>
      <p>The collection consists of 13 photographs, primarily of publisher, journalist, and patron
        of the arts, Marguerite Caetani, Princess of Bassiano, Duchess of Sermoneta (Italian, born
        America, 1880-1963). Many of the the photographs were taken at Caetani's residences in
        France and Italy, and feature her family members. Other subjects include authors and poets
        T. S. Eliot, Paul Valéry, and Giuseppe Ungaretti.</p>
      <p>This file forms a part of the Literary File Collection that is comprised of photographs and
        albums withdrawn from the libraries and/or papers of literary figures, and generally include
        portraits and images collected by or of those figures.</p>
