Description:

The collection consists of fifteen prints made from original negatives taken during Captain Scott’s Antarctica Expedition of 1910-1912. Herbert George Ponting (British, 1870-1935) was the official photographer to the expedition, and the bulk of the collection are prints by him. Also included, however, are two photographs (964:0032:0010, 0012) by Lieut. H. R. (Henry Robertson) Bowers (Scottish, 1883-1912), another member of the expedition. Print information follows. All titles taken from the rectos and versos of the prints.
