The collection consists of 354 gelatin silver prints by, and of, Christina Broom (British, 1862-1939). The photographs, which are a mixture of loose prints and photographic postcards, date from 1900 to 1934, the bulk of which date between 1902 and 1925. The collection is divided by subject matter into five groups: Royalty, 1900-1934 (116 items); Military, 1902-1934 (166 items); Women, including Suffragists, 1906-1925 (21 items); Miscellaneous, 1900-1925 (44 items); and Photographs of Mrs. Broom, 1910-1934 (7 items by Winifred Broom and others).
