The collection consists of 39 gelatin silver photographs, taken in the mid 1960s, by Albert Brown (Australian, 1931-2017). Depicted are Aboriginal Australians and other Australians in the Lake Tyers area, a settlement two hundred miles east of Melbourne, and in Melbourne’s suburbs. Brown produced the images in connection with the University of Melbourne. Titles and subjects follow. |
