Description:

The collection consists of 17 platinum and 4 gelatin silver portrait photographs by Alice Elizabeth Austen (American, 1866-1952), who was an amateur pictorialist living in Boston. With the exception of the one image of Mrs. Olmstead, senior, all sitters are unidentified. The time period represented is from 1880 to 1910. The images are 20.4 x 14.4 cm or smaller, on mounts 34.6 x 24.6 cm or smaller.
