Description:

The collection consists of one hundred thirty two candid snapshots, which taken on a trip to Washington D.C. and New York for the 1909 inauguration of President William H. Taft, collected by G. Emerson Brant. It also includes photographs of a ground breaking ceremony and studio portraits of family members. Photographers include Bryson & Son (Houlton, Maine), C. J. Wright (Houston, Texas), Deane (Houston, Texas), Philip H. Rose (Galveston, Texas), and an unidentified commercial photographer(s). Time period represented is circa 1870 to circa 1910.
