Description:

The collection consists of eleven photographs, dating between circa 1870 and circa 1910, of and/or related to Buffalo Bill. Included are various posed portraits of him and members of the family dressed in indigenous costume. Other photographs document his escort of a Mormon bridal party from Flagstaff, Arizona, to Utah, and his “Wild West Trip to Grand Canyon of the Colorado River and Buckskin Mountain of Arizona.” Additionally there is a family portrait of John Y. Nelson, who was a scout, guide, and interpreter of the Sioux. The portraits of Cody were taken by Sarony, and Anderson.
