The Mrs. Robert G. Crosby Photography Collection is comprised of ten autographed portraits of performers identified as the following: Lydia Lopokova, ballerina; Walter Darmrosch, Metropolitan Opera and Dir. N.Y. Symphony Orchestra; Fritz Kreisler, violinist & arranger; Jan Kubelik, violinist and composer; Joseph Stransky, conductor Philharmonic Society. N.Y.; John Phillip Sousa, composer; Harold Bauer, pianist; Jan Ignacy Paderewski, pianist & composer; Victor Herbert, composer; and Ernestine Schumann-Heinke, contralto with Metropolitan Opera. Time period represented 1909 to 1930. Mary I. Crosby (ca. 1865-1927) Also gifted at the time of acquisition were several late 18th and early 19th century dishes, including: 74.146.6 Square dish with notched corners and blue and white glaze, with colored butterfly and flowers, circa 1799 74.146.19 Round dish with scalloped edges and blue and white glaze, circa 1830 74.146.22 Round earthenware dish with blue and white glaze, circa 1816 74.146.28 Rectangular dish with blue and white glaze, circa 1805-1812 |
