Description:

The collection consists of approximately 70 photographs created by Roger C. Baker, Jr. (American, born 1943). The photographs were created using a variety of historical and experimental processes. Material on daguerreotype and iridotype processes and how to make modern prints on glass are present. Notes and examples of experiments and inventions using dusting on process and an "example of Burnish Gold Images Fired onto Glass - Roger Baker August 30, 1983" and a paper on "Daguerreotype Hardware." There are two experimental prints (996:0048:0001-0002) of a "new direct carbon printing process," created in September and November of 1996. Accompanying these prints are two short, unpublished papers, which are stored in the photography Vertical files, that describe the processes. Some of the material is on loan from the photographer.
