Description:

The collection consists of 52 gelatin silver prints of the construction of the Panama Canal and its opening celebration, visiting officials, and engineers. Also included are several photocopies of items concerning the construction of the Panama Canal, and of the photographer Ernest “Red” Hallen. The materials date between 1888 and circa 1927.
