Description:

Photographically illustrated book titled Reichsparteitag der Arbeit (Diessen a. Ammersee, Raumbild-verlag O. Schōnstein, 1937) commemorating the 9th Nazi Party Congress, titled "Reichsparteitag der Arbeit," held in 1937 at the Nazi party rally grounds in Nuremberg, Germany. The books contains 100 gelatin silver stereoscopic photographs by Heinrich Hoffman (German, 1885-1957), Hitler’s personal photographer, text by Pitter Gern (German, active circa 1937), and a preface by Dr. Otto Dietrich (German, 1897-1952). Covered in a red cloth binding with debossed gold lettering and image, the book has thick covers that contain pockets. The front cover has one pocket that contains a metal foldable stereo viewer (958:0159:0001). The back cover has three pockets that contain a total of 78 photographs (958:0159:0024-0101). The text block contains 22 mounted photographs (958:0159:0002-0023). Subjects included are Nazi party functions, athletic games, and military reviews.
