Description:

The collection consists of 47 photographs by John C. Taylor (Canadian, born 1946). Included are a five-fold triptych series of the Rotunda of the Texas State Capital (980:0168:0003-0017) and 30 prints from his exhibition “Geometric Progressions: Great Domes of Italy”. The latter group of prints are interior views of various Baroque cathedrals around Italy. All views were taken in a uniform manner, looking upwards from directly beneath the central domes. An artist statement from 1991 and an exhibition list detailing the dates and sites of each print are available upon request. Select item-level information follows.
