Description:

Collection consists of nine gelatin silver prints and ten gelatin silver negatives, taken by Queen Alexandra, consort of Edward VII, King of Great Britain, with her first Kodak camera that was presented to her in 1889 by George Eastman. All images were made by the Queen with the exception of a portrait of her, which was taken by her daughter, Princess Victoria. The images are group portraits, casual in nature, of members of the royal family and their pets. The photographs appear to have been made during excursions to estates in Scotland and England, and to the seaside, with a number of portraits taken on board the royal yacht. Seven of the negatives correspond to seven of the photographic prints.
