Description:

Two volumes of mounted photolithographs made from daguerreotypes by N. P. Lerebours. Each image is accompanied by text by Paul de La Garenne, F. Goupil and many others. The images are views of monuments, architecture, and landscapes primarily around France (46) and Italy (28). The volumes also include images of Egypt (6), Syria (5), Greece (4), Russia (4), [Sardinia?] (4), Spain (3), and Switzerland (3), with an additional 1 image each of: Algeria, the United States, England, Jerusalem, Sweden, and Germany. The set is missing one image (number 24) from the second volume. The volumes were published by Rittner et Goupil of Paris in 1842.
