Description:

Photograph album containing 95 albumen prints by W. A. Mansell & Co. (British, active 1860s-1900s) of items in the British museum. Each photograph is inserted into a separate page and is accompanied by a printed caption that is mounted below. The captions contain the plate number and the time period, description and provenance of the object(s) pictured. The plates in this volume are numbered from 491 to 765 with many gaps in the sequence. The subjects of the photographs are primarily Assyrian and Greco-Roman antiquities.
