Photographically illustrated book by William Menzies (British, 1827-1878), the Deputy Surveyor of Windsor Park and Forest, titled The History of Windsor Great Park and Windsor Forest (London: Longman, Green, Longman, Roberts and Green, 1864). The book is illustrated with 20 albumen photographs of large trees taken by the James Sinclair, 14th Earl of Caithness (Scottish, 1821-1881), and William Bembridge (British, 1818-1879) and two hand-colored lithograph maps published by Edward Weller (British, 1819-1884) and Day & Son (British, active circa 1860s-1880s). |
