Description:

Photograph album containing views of architecture in Sicily, Greece, Turkey, Germany, Belgium and France containing 139 photographs, 94 of which are mounted and 45 of which are laid in. The majority of the photographs are albumen prints, but also included are 3 salted paper prints, 2 collotypes, 1 carbon print, and 1 gelatin silver printing-out paper print. While the makers of most photographs are unknown, photographers identified are: Pascal Sebah (1); W. R. Wynter (1); James Valentine (1); Francis Frith (2); H. H. Museum of Vienna (2); S. E. Poulton (1); Francis Bedford (2); and W. & D. Downey (1). Several other photographs may be attributed to James Robertson. Dated photographs span from 1871 to 1885.
