Description:

Published portfolio, titled I. Photographs of Mexico (New York: Virginia Stevens, 1940), also known as "The Mexican Portfolio." Contained within a slip-case are 20 photogravures by Paul Strand (American, 1890-1976) accompanied by an introduction by Leo Hurwitz. The foreword is signed in ink by Strand. The Center's copy of the portfolio includes an inscribed presentation to Dr. Wilhelm Brauer from Roberto López. Plate titles and dates follow.
