Description:

Photographically illustrated book by William Henry Fox Talbot (English, 1800-1877) entitled The Pencil of Nature by William Henry Fox Talbot (London: Longman, Brown, Green and Longmans, 1844-1846). This copy is incomplete, consisting of only the first of six sections, and containing only five mounted photographs. It is stamped: Gernsheim Collection; two leaves of typed manuscripts (an exhibition description?) are (laid in). Plate information follows.
