Portfolio, entitled The Kallitype: Both Historical and Modern Formulae, by William Russell Young, copyright 1985, containing 18 kallitypes accompanied by 11 pages of text. Because the kallitypes were made using a variety of developers, toners, and papers, each image is mounted to a page on which this technical information is printed. The accompanying text, contains a brief history of the kallitype, an annotated bibliography, Young’s modern formula for creating kallitypes, Henry Hall’s formula from 1903, James M. Thomson’s improved formula from 1922, as well as recipes for a variety of toners.
