Description: |
Portfolio, titled Vues Anaglyphiques (Annemasse, Haute-Savoie: Imprimerie Chambet, [ca. 1920]). The portfolio contains 13 anaglyphs of Paris, and a pair of 3D glasses. Each plate was photomechanically printed in two contrasting colors (in this case red and blue) and superimposed but slightly out of register, so that when viewed through the enclosed glasses a three-dimensional effect is created. Of the 13 images, 12 (964:0046:0001-0012) are by Bonnamy of Paris, the other print (964:0046:0013) is by Nadar. Credit is also given to the inventor of the process, Louis Ducos du Hauron. Titles and subjects of plates follow. |
