Description:

The George Platt Lynes collection consists of 136 gelatin silver prints, 1 needlepoint, and 4 folders of manuscript materials (clippings, tearsheets, exhibition announcements, Christmas cards). The needlepoint and nearly all photographs are by Lynes, but also included are portraits of Lynes by Cecil Beaton, George Huningen-Huene, Janet Taylor, and unidentified photographers. The works by George Platt Lynes are a mixture of portraits, nudes and fashion photographs. An unpublished finding aid for this collection is available.
