Copy 1: Complete run of this photographically illustrated series, published in eight volumes between October 1889 and July 1891, and containing 32 plates of reproductions of photographs by: Col. J. (Joseph) Gale (British, 1830-1906); H. P. (Henry Peach) Robinson (English, 1830-1901); J. B. B. Wellington (English, 1858–1939); Lyddell Sawyer (English, 1856-ca. 1908); Julia Margaret Cameron (British, 1815-1879); B. Gay Wilkinson (English, 1857–1927); Mrs. (E. W. H.) Myers; and Frank Meadow Sutcliffe (English, 1853-1941). Each plate is accompanied by descriptive text. Inscribed: "This signed India proof edition of 'Sun Artists' is strictly limited to one hundred copies, all of which are numbered". HRC-P copy is number 14. Signed binding (stamped on front end paper): Bound by Zaehnsdorf. Binding with monogram: RBM (Sir Richard Biddulph Martin). Bound into one volume (39.5 x 30 cm). Print information follows.
