Published, photographically illustrated book by George Eliot entitled Romola (Leipzig: Bernhard Tauchnitz, 1863). Issued in two volumes, each of which is separately bound in white leather with gold and blue decoration, marbled endpapers, and without half-title page or final leaf (vol. 1). Volume 1 contains 16 albumen prints, and volume 2 contains 14 albumen prints. The photographs, all uncaptioned, were taken by an unidentified photographer(s) in and around Florence, Italy.
