Description:

The collection consists of thirty-nine images of and related to the author R. M. (Robert Michael) Ballantyne (Scottish, 1825-1894). Included are original and copy print portraits of Ballantyne, both alone and with his wife Jane "Jeanie", his parents, brother and children, and their home in Harrow, England. Included are two cyanotype snapshots and one one ambrotype portrait (957:0140:0016). Identified photographers include: Bourne & Shepherd (957:0140:0025); J. B. Ciolina (957:0140:0021); G. & D.
