Description:

The collection consists of 68 photographic prints of and related to novelist John Steinbeck (American, 1902-1968). Included are portraits of Steinbeck alone, with his third wife, Elaine, in various locales, and at the 1962 Nobel Prize festivities in Sweden. There are also movie stills from productions based on Steinbeck's works, including East of Eden, The Grapes of Wrath, and Viva Zapata!.
