The collection consists of 118 items, the majority of which depict people and places that pertain to the publisher and translator Arthur Livingston (American, 1883-1944). Numerous Italian intellectual, literary, and political figures of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century are represented in the file, including Giovanni Gentile, Giovanni Giolitti, Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, Fausto Maria Martini, Ugo Ojetti, Aldo Palazzeschi, Vifredo Pareto, Giuseppe Peano, Italo Svevo, and Guido da Verona, as well as Gabriele D'Annuzio and the actress Eleanora Duse, with whom he had a liaison. |
