Description:

The collection consists of 277 photographic prints and negatives related to author and poet John Cowper Powys (British, 1872-1963). Included are images of Powys, his parents, several of his siblings (Albert Reginald, Gertrude, Llewelyn, Philippa, Theodore Francis, and William), and various other people. Over one third of the items are images associated with a 1957 edition of Somerset and Dorset Essays by Llewelyn Powys. There are also images of Llewelyn Powys' death mask and views of his house, as well as photographic prints and negatives removed from his correspondence at the Ransom Center.
