Description:

The collection consists of a mounted portrait of Rear-Admiral George Dewey (American, 1837-1917), who was Commander-in-Chief of the Asiatic Station of the United States Navy in 1898. The portrait was taken by C. M. (Charles Milton) Bell (American, 1848-1893), and a card with Dewey’s signature is adhered to recto of mount.
