This collection consists of images related to linguist and UT professor Leonidas Warren Payne (American, 1873-1945) including: Thomas Hardy, Hardy's birthplace, and George Herbert's parsonage (P1-P5; 980:0051:0001; 986:0038:0001-0004; 997:0105:0097-0098); 986:0038:0003-0004 are panoramic prints. Identified photographers include: Elias Goldensky (Russian-American, 1868-1943) (986:0038:0001); James H. "Jimmy" Hare (American, 1856-1946) (P5); Photopress (London) (986:0038:0002); and Robert Runyon (American, 1881-1968) (986:0038:0003).
