Description: |
Limited edition published portfolio, titled The High Embrace (Los Angeles: Dawson's Book Shop, 1986), containing six leaves of text and five mounted gelatin silver prints by Leigh Wiener (American, 1923-1996). The photographs are candid portraits of the poet William Everson (American, 1912-1994). The leaves of text include Everson's poem, The High Embrace, and commentary by the photographer. The Ransom Center's copy is number 32 of 100 copies. The edition was printed by Patrick Reagh (American, born 1948) on Arches Heavyweight paper from Janson type, and it is signed by the poet, the photographer, and the printer. Published titles for the portraits follow. |
