The collection consists of twelve portraits (P1-P3, P4A-P4B, P5A-P5B, P6A-P6B, P7-P9; with P6A-P6B being two copies of the same image) of novelist Rhys Davies (Welsh, 1901-1978). Identified photographers whose work is included in the collection are: Julian Sheppard (P7); Owen Thomas (P5A-P5B, P9); and Thomson Organisation (P8).

This collection forms a part of the Literary Files Photography Collection is comprised of photographs and albums withdrawn from the libraries and/or papers of literary figures, and generally includes portraits and images by, collected by, of, and/or related to those entities.
