Odhams Limited	In 1898 the firms of William Odhams and Odhams Brothers Limited merged to form Odhams Limited, which operated as a printing and a publishing company. The printing company, Odhams Press, went out of existence in 1983. The publishing company, Odhams Books, was one of three companies which merged in 1963 to form IPC (International Publishing Corporation). IPC was purchased by the Reed Group in 1970, and then by a Cinven-backed consortium in 1998, before being purchased by AOL Time Warner in 2001. Oliver and Boyd	The date of foundation of the publishing firm of Oliver and Boyd is sometimes given as 1778 and sometimes as 1798. Orion Publishing Group Ltd	The following passage is taken from the Orion website (http://www.orionbooks.co.uk/history.aspx): "The Orion Publishing Group Limited was founded in 1991. Soon after incorporation, Orion began negotiations with Lord Weidenfeld and acquired Weidenfeld & Nicolson as the nucleus of a new, entrepreneurial publishing group." The Orion Publishing Group was bought by Hachette in 1998, but continues to trade under its own name.	2008

Pan Books	Pan Books was founded in 1944, and became a mass circulation paperback publisher jointly owned by Collins, Macmillan, Heinemann and Hodder & Stoughton. In 1987 Pan became a wholly owned subsidiary of Macmillan.
