Claude Kendall, Inc.	Claude Kendall founded his own publishing house in New York in 1929. In 1934 the firm was renamed Claude Kendall and Willoughby Sharp. In 1936 it became Claude Kendall, Inc., but the firm went bankrupt and out of business that same year. Kendall himself was murdered in 1937. Clowes and Clowes	William Clowes founded his own printing and publishing company in London in 1803. In 1873, two other family members, both called William Clowes, established the firm of Clowes and Clowes in Beccles, Suffolk. In 1880 the Suffolk and London companies merged to form William Clowes Limited. William Clowes Limited is still trading and in 2004 the head office in Suffolk moved from Beccles to Ellough. Collet's Holdings Ltd	Collet's Holdings Ltd ran bookshops and a publishing company in London which were closely associated with the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe. The firm operated from the 1940s to the 1990s, but after severe trading difficulties in 1991 and 1992 it went out of business in 1993.	2008

Curwen Press	The music publishing firm of Curwen Press was founded by John Curwen (1816-1880) and was originally known as J. Curwen & Sons Ltd. In 1969 the firm was purchased by the US publishers Crowell, Collier & Macmillan.
