Description: |
North Wales: Frith’s Photo-Pictures is an album printed and bound in the 1870s, containing ten photographs attributed to Francis Frith (British, 1822–1898), made between 1851 and 1870. Bound in blue cloth with gilt and black stamped borders, gilt lettering, and gilt edges, the album contains ten albumen prints mounted on card, each measuring approximately 4 × 6.3 inches. The photographs depict scenic views and architectural landmarks across North Wales, including castles, bridges, and mountain passes. Subjects include Criccieth Castle, Caernarfon Castle, Menai Bridge, Beddgelert Bridge, Pont Aberglaslyn, Llanberis Pass, Conwy Castle, and Llyn Gwynant. The album is part of the Gernsheim Collection, acquired in 1963. |
