The collection consists of 45 exhibition gelatin silver prints made by Ransom Center photographer, Pete Smith, under the supervision of David Douglas Duncan (American, 1916-2018), for the retrospective David Douglas Duncan: One Life, A Photographic Odyssey, presented jointly by the Harry Ransom Center and the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum, in Austin, Texas, March 6, 1999, through January 2, 2000.
