Description:

The collection consists of one photograph by David Douglas Duncan (American, 1916-2018). Item-level information follows.

2019:0005:0001 -- Maurice Chevalier, 1963. Chromogenic color print mounted on masonite and glued to wooden frame, 74.2 x 50.6 x 5 cm (29 3/16 x 19 15/16 x 2 inches). Inscribed and signed by the artist in black ink, bottom right corner print recto: "For / Stanley Marcus / With admiration / New York / 15 Jan 1973 / David Douglas Duncan". The portrait was taken with a custom prismatic lens resulting in a patterned and repetitive image.
